Byron: And Simon. Special Simon, we call him. Say hello, Simon.
Simon sends images of flowers to Lochley
Lochley: Flowers. I saw flowers.
Byron: He likes you. He only gives flowers as a gift to the people he likes. He can remember everything he's ever seen, heard, smelled or touched, from the moment he was born, and he can project those memories into someone else's mind. Share a part of himself in the most intimate way imaginable. I saw the flowers he gave you; I'd say he's quite fond of you.
Lochley: Thank you.
Simon smiles and goes back to the knot of telepaths
Byron: He doesn't talk, not even to us. Not even in here. [indicates his head]
Lochley: He doesn't look well.
Byron: It's been a long trip.
Dr. Franklin: He's a little dehydrated, and malnourished for some time now.
Byron: We are refugees, Doctor. Eating out is not a luxury we can afford, as you know. You treated many of my kind.
Dr. Franklin: Vocal cords are intact, but atrophied. No apparent nerve damage, so he can speak, he just chooses not to. Now why is that?
Byron: Simon came to us last year on Mars. He was a tunnel rat, living in the ducts and pipelines beneath Mars One. We know he endured some terrible trauma during those years; we've never asked. When he chooses to speak of it, he will.
Dr. Franklin: And if he doesn't?
Byron: Then he alone will bear the pain of it. But we are here for him, if he should ever change his mind.
Simon sends Franklin an image of an underground room, flames, Simon holding a dead girl in his arms. Possibly his sister, from the colouring
Dr. Franklin: I saw...
Byron: Yes. And that is all he will let any of us see. We have no idea who she was, only that he feels guilt for her death and hopes to make up for it someday.
Simon is a fifteen-year-old hyperthymesic telepath from Mars Colony. He's a little shorter and thinner than he should be thanks to malnutrition - when the PsiCorps are after you, you hide, and when you're in hiding it's difficult to eat properly. He survived the riots and civil war on Mars, although not unscathed - he doesn't talk anymore, not even telepathically. He communicates through images sent to people's minds, although he doesn't scan without direct permission.
Simon is not mine, and is the property of the makers of Babylon Five: J. Michael Straczynski, Babylonian Productions Inc and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.. He is being used on a non-profit basis for roleplaying in
